March brings with it the first real hints of spring — lighter evenings, brighter mornings, and the welcome sight of bulbs beginning to bloom. There’s a quiet sense of change in the air as winter slowly loosens its grip and we begin to look ahead to warmer days.
At Burcot Court, March is a time for gentle refreshment — enjoying longer daylight, reconnecting with routines, and perhaps stepping outside a little more when the weather allows.
Here’s what we have to look forward to this month.
The First Signs of Spring
There’s something uplifting about March. A daffodil appearing in the garden, sunlight through the lounge windows, a slightly softer breeze — small changes, but meaningful ones.
Spring doesn’t arrive all at once. It creeps in gently, encouraging us to open windows a little wider, sit outside for a few moments, and enjoy the feeling that brighter days are ahead.
As Dan so nicely put it in this month’s Companion:
“March reminds us that change can be gentle — and brighter days are always on their way.”

These groups are a wonderful reminder that Burcot Court thrives on shared ideas and community spirit. If you have an idea for a group of your own, we’d love to hear it.
A Gentle Spring Refresh
March is often associated with fresh starts — not dramatic changes, but small thoughtful ones. Rearranging a chair to catch the afternoon sun, clearing a cupboard, trying a new activity, or simply allowing yourself more rest.
Spring refreshes don’t have to be exhausting. Sometimes the smallest changes bring the greatest lift.
With longer daylight hours, there’s also a gentle invitation to step outside again — even a short stroll in the courtyard or a few minutes in the fresh air can make a noticeable difference.
Mother’s Day in March
Mother’s Day can mean different things to different people — celebration, reflection, remembrance, or a mixture of all three.
However you choose to spend it, we hope the day brings warmth — whether through family connections, fond memories, or the companionship found here at Burcot Court.
A Season of Gentle Optimism
March may be a transitional month, but history shows it’s often one of innovation and new beginnings — fitting themes as we step further into spring.
At Burcot Court, it’s a month for fresh air, friendly conversation, shared laughter, and looking ahead with quiet optimism.
Here’s to brighter mornings, longer evenings, and a cheerful March together.
